why is cross dressing such a big deal?
just because our society says certain people should dress a certain way doesn’t make any other way wrong…like the very first high heels ever worn were worn by men, in Ireland and Scotland some men wear kilts (like skirts), back in the 50′s and before women wearing any kind of pants were labeled as cross dressers, and even Jesus (or at least pictures of what he might have looked like) had long hair which is now seen as more of a girl hairdo…why do some people make a big deal out of cross dressing for no reason?

Society is all about control. So is governments and religions. Without rules, standards, and reasons to make you conform. You would be Truly free and wouldn’t need them. Then where would that leave the "Powers That Be"? They don’t actually produce anything tangible you know.

By the way. Men also used to wear tights and show their legs off. They carried purses called a necessiety bag because they didnt have pockets. So that’s wigs, tights, skirts, high heel shoes, and purses. But hey, that was different. lol

I believe the reason is because Men,regardless of what they say feel that another male who dresses,acts,and expects to be treated as a woman have embarrassed men in general because they have deliberately lowered their status to female.
some societies only wear a flap over their genitals and go around bare assed. the women don’t cover up their breasts. so the mode of dress is the same for males and females, hence crossdressing has no meaning in such a society. other societies have more distinctives between male and female attire.
by citing things as Scottish kilts, you clearly don’t understand the point of crossdressing, which is to deliberately dress as someone of the opposite sex (more typically it is male crossdressing as female). i don’t have a statistic, but I would guess that most often it is done for sexual reasons (I’m sure I don’t need to elaborate on that).
Yeah I agree with you. I think if people want to do it for fun or express themselves then they should and there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just clothes. I’ve done it before and it was fun. lol and people who don’t like it can kiss my azz.

Hi.. I completely agree with you – what’s the big deal about cross dressing…. But do let me say this…
I myself am a log time married cross dresser with a very supportive, understanding, accepting, knowledgeable, and helpful wife, who has taught me all the traits to emulate women from presentation,to walking, standing, sitting, mannerisms, make up, hair, nails, etc and from all of this I have an extensive wardrobe including 42 pair of HIGH HEELS (and I do mean HIGH), and for all of this, it is a lifestyle for me, and not a hobby or passing whim/ fancy..I sincerely think that if more wives and girlfriends, etc understood and accepted what their s/o s may be interested in, it would sure make for a lot easier life for all concerned..
In fact at this moment, I’m just awaiting my wife’s return, so that we can get on our way to a Christmas party with 20-25 other c/d s t/g s and t/s s to be in attendance, so this should all be very enjoyable indeed..
Those who have to "pussy-foot" around their wife’s back, are playing a very dangerous game indeed..
Needless to say I truly find women’s apparel far more enjoyable to wear than that of male attire.

Cuz it’s not your typical male activity!, and that’s too bad, cuz it’s so fulfilling and fun to X dress!
I don’t think its the cross dressing that’s such a big deal. It’s just that its the most obvious thing to do that is not blending with the ideals of society. Therefore it gives the crowd an unjust right to snicker and slander about it. However, a lot of other things generate the same kind of scrutiny. Say your shoes don’t match, your over weight, You don’t know how to do something, you even say the word poop or anything. It creates the child-babyish need to make a big monstrosity of something that completely doesn’t effect their life. The only reason why people act this way is because they need to feel good about how they fit in. Kind of like a child that talks a lot for attention.
In regards to Anony Mooses comment. Cross dressing is not in regards to completely dressing as the other gender. It could be anything from underwear to a pink hat for male or female. It depends on the blind outlook of the surrounding people.
