Depends how old. A very young child may simply think of it as a game rather than actual cross dressing

I dressed in boys clothing for years and had short spiked hair for a while as a kid. I’m feminine as a grown woman. My brother wouldn’t go near girls’ clothes as a kid, and he’s gay as an adult and still has no interest in being fem.
Dressing a certain way as a child is rarely if ever an indicator of what the child will be like as an adult.
It doesn’t matter.

Age is a factor that is not mentioned that does make a difference. Girls cross dress all the time and it is total acceptable. So I am guessing you are referring to a boy cross dressing. If it was an older son not doing it for fun playing around, I do not think I would be happy about it. I would however talk to him and try to understand his reason for doing so. He is my son so I would still be there for him no matter what. A parents love and all that stuff.
